Operating Instructions
|
1. When towing a trailer, make sure you attach trailer safety chains and electrical supply to the towing vehicle.
2. Remember: This unit is a temporary solution for a temporary problem. If your load or hauling requires a heavier duty vehicle, you should use the vehicle needed. If you periodically need an assist, then this is the unit for you.
3. Warning: Road speeds and tongue weight should not exceed tire manufacturer recommendations!
4. Tires are shipped with 60 lbs. of air pressure. You should increase tire air pressure to 75 lbs. if the load requires you to do so.
5. Wheel bolts should be re-tightened periodically.
6. Installation: Install the Hitch Helper before you load your vehicle or hook up to your trailer. Adjust the upright holes in the stem according to your load requirements. Install the unit into your receiver hitch so the tire is touching the ground. If you are hauling or pulling an extremely heavy load, adjust the stem so the bottom of the tire is approximately 1 inch off the ground. This helps insure that you don't put too much weight on the Hitch Helper unit.
7. It is recommended that you re-pack the wheel bearing annually. This should be considered regarding usage and good judgment.
8. Remember to send your warranty over the internet. You can complete your warranty on the Warranty Registration Page.
9. Warranty is for one year from date of purchase. Tire is NOT covered, as it is covered by the tire manufacturer. For warranty purposes, the old unit must be returned before any other action is taken.
